Daddy singing and an update on me

Hi everyone,

It's me again, Yana. Hopefully I'll be able to write this entry without Mama and Daddy catching me. I want to upload this video where my Daddy sings and he would probably not approve, because he's too embarassed about it. After all, he can't even remember all the words to 'Twinkle, twinkle little star'. At least I can remember the moves.

Well, I've been pretty good lately, so Mama and Daddy say. I have finally given in and I call them by their names, although I sometimes can't decide between 'Mama' and 'Mummy' for my mum. At first they were really excited, but now they sometimes don't like it, if I repeat their names too often and in a demanding tone. I have to work on that. I can also say 'Yana', although I get confused because they sometimes call me 'Yani'. But I can say that too.

I got this little buggy a while ago and I love pushing Bean-Bear around in it (or any other toy really). When we go for a walk outside I'm allowed to take Bean-Bear in the buggy and he gets one of my jackets. Mama gets a bit cross when I try to abandon Bean-Bear, so I've stopped that and I push him all the way now. I'm scared of not being allowed to take him out anymore.

I don't really like some of the food they try to feed me, like chunky bits of vegetable or bread. Bread is a nice thing really, but only when it's soaked in a soup or as a carrying device for nice things like cheese or ham. My favourite things are yoghurt, cheese, grapes, kiwi-fruit and raisins. I can eat them any time, any day, whether hungry or not.

Mama and I have started to go to 'Tumble Tots', where I can climb and balance on things, there are lots of other children and I get a sticker at the end, which I can stick on my sticker chart on the fridge. I really like it there, apart from the singing, which is a bit boring and almost puts me to sleep sometimes.

I'm not sure if Mama and Daddy have told you, but if not then I will - I'm going to get a little brother or sister for my birthday (well, hopefully after my birthday, since that's my day). I'm not quite sure what that means. I hope it means that I get an older sibling. Little babies are cute, but they get a bit boring after a while. I prefer older children who do cool things. I love watching them.

Squash - The new Rugby

Last weekend I played in a squash tournament organised by the squash league I've joined here. Because I joined relatively recently, they gave me a rather generous handicap, which meant I was able to get through to the final with the first game actually being the hardest - because the other guy was also new, and had also received a pretty generous handicap.

Anyway, about 3 points into the final I went for the ball, then suddenly felt like someone wacked me on the ankle and I fell over - it was my left Achilles tendon rupturing...

I'm booked in for surgery tomorrow morning - which is better than the alternative of just having it in plaster for 7 weeks - which fixes it, but has a re-rupture rate of between 15-40%. Surgery has about a 5% re-rupture rate.

I'll probably post some nice photo of my (little) shark bite in a few days time.
