More from Yana

Because my parents have been too slack to write an entry recently, I thought I should write another one. I'm now almost 13 months old and I have the feeling that my parents understand me a little better. They still don't let me get my way enough, but they do get my point in a lot more cases. For example, when I make chewing noises, they know I want their food. I think they are a lot more careful what they eat around me now, because they know they have to share their food with me. Even though I only have six teeth I can chew pretty well.

I'm not too keen on walking by myself yet. After all, I get everywhere I want to by crawling and it's a lot more fun to climb than to walk anyway. I can get up and down stairs, low couches and sometimes even ladders. I can shake my head, put caps on bottles and eat from a fork, when Mama puts something on it for me. Spoons don't really work for me, because the food always falls off them.

I better go, Mama and Daddy want to go tramping with me here in Switzerland, where we are staying at the moment.

Here are some more photos of me...

Next time I might have the results of the test I'm doing on Mum and Dad - I'm sleeping till 7:30am at the moment to see what they are like when they aren't sleep deprived ;-)

Yana turns 1...

Since I'm a whole year old now, I decided it's time to contribute to my parents' blog. I could hold a grudge against them, because they haven't renamed the blog to 3Germans, but I'm pretty tolerant and I'll let them get away with it.

For those of you, who don't know me yet...
My name is Yana Isabel Sandford. I was born on the 27.07.07 in Munich. I'm about 0.75m tall and I weigh 9.4kg. I have short dark blond hair and bright blue eyes. I can say 'da' (German for 'there') and point at things, 'Nein nein nein' (German for 'No no no'), 'dada' (for 'Daddy', at least that's what he thinks), occasionally 'Mama' and lots of other sounds that only I can understand. I like speedcrawling, climbing up onto things (couches, slides, ladders, stairs, etc.), doing a handstand, eating what Mama and Daddy are eating (especially cheese), looking at and chewing on books, grinning and most of all exploring.

I had two birthday parties recently: one on my actual birthday and one a week later. The first celebration was with my parents, grandma, uncle, greatgrandma, greataunties and greatuncles in a cafe along the Rhein. They ate cake and drank coffee, while I had to sit on someones lap and behave. Fortunately I got to play in a sandpit for a little while. The second celebration was more to my taste: lots of people (including some my age) sitting together in the Englische Garten in Munich having a picnic, sunny weather, food I got to taste, space to move around and toys to play with.

That's it from me for now. Until next time...
